Denver to Houston: I'm already six hours into my travel and I haven't even left the States. Sometimes, travelling is a real nightmare. I am currently in Houston. My flight here was quite interesting. Apparently there is a very popular/important cat show going on. That's right, my flight was filled with overweight, single women in their mid-forties and their multiple cats. I just pray that will not be my fate.
Houston to Panama: I'm on my way to Panama and the woman sitting to my left looks like an Inca- about 107 years young I am guessing.
Panama to Santiago: Now, I'm on my way to Chile! I am pretty sure I am the only person on this plane that does not know a lick of Spanish. I just popped an Ambien. Hopefully I will be able to sleep a bit on this flight.
Highlight in Chile? (Besides finding Fletcher of course) is Dunkin Donuts! Despite this joy, I am beginning to get a little cranky from all the traveling. My legs are really beginning to ache. I have been traveling for 28 hours and 30 minutes. I still have one more flight to catch when I arrive in Lima. Being that I left Santiago late (which is typical in Latin America), I am assuming that I am going to miss the 12:15pm flight being that it is 12:00pm now and I am 40,000 feet high. Thank goodness I have a translator who is snoozing next to me.
31 hours, 51 minutes. I missed my flight (as predicted) and am finally on my way to Cusco. Flying over the Andes is absolutely stunning. Indescribable. If you look real close you can catch a glimpse, a little glimmer of a home nestled away in the Andes´ ridges. Also, seeing an active volcano was very nice.
33 hours, 5 minutes. And I am in Cusco.
