Adventures in Trail Running...

Today after work I decided to go on a nice long trail run to try out my new sneakers. I have been experiencing pain in my Achilles and was hoping the new shoes would help. It was a perfect day to hit the trail. It just stopped raining less than an hour earlier so the trail was enjoyably soft and no one was around. About four miles in, I noticed something moving along the trail in front of me. I started to slow down. Once I got a better view, I realized the creature was a coyote. "No big deal" I thought, as I have seen many coyotes before. Suddenly, the thing started chasing me, "What the f^$k?!" I started yelling as I was running away. I began making loud noises, acting psychotic until it finally gave up realizing it didn't want to mess with a Jersey Girl. As I got back to Old Man Truck, I began stretching and unwinding from the run. I opened up my water belt to find that my car key was gone. "Sh*t." I said I said under my breath as I began the trek back the 6 miles of trail I was just on to find my key. About a 1/2 mile in to my bitching fest/trek, I thought I remembered having a magnetic key under Old Man Truck. I walked back to the truck hoping to God the place where I put the key would be obvious. Lucky for me, it was. :) I hopped in my truck and decided, "Hell, I might as well drive along part of the trail to try to find this other key" Low and behold, I found my key, in the spot where I was being chased by the coyote. Lately I have been feeling like the universe is completely against me with all these little misfortunes that I have been having as of late. However, I am beginning to finally see that life is an adventure and I am just here for the ride.

Girls who drive trucks do this...

Yesterday, I went up to Glacier View Ranch to help my uncle set up for a camp I have been volunteering at throughout the past 10 years that is sponsored by the American Lung Association. (If you want more information be sure to check out http://www.lungcolorado.org/) Once I was done setting up, I noticed that another volunteer had his 4-wheeler with him. I asked if he would take me for a ride, but he had a better idea which entailed me driving his, and him driving someone else's . After a quick lesson and a helmet request (lesson learned!) we were off. Who knew tearing it up through nature could be so much fun! We went through the mountains for miles and miles. Eventually, we got lost and didn't finish our ride until 10pm! However, such an awesome experience! One I hope to have again real soon.

Yoga Fun!

Today was such a yoga-fun-filled day. I taught yoga BOOTCAMP at 6:30am (it wouldn't be BOOTCAMP if it started at 10:am!), had an amazing photo shoot at Om Light Photography, and taught class at 9:00pm! I am PROUD of these new photos. I would really enjoy reading your thoughts on the few that I've posted.

Hugs and High Planks,

Caryl
