Cusco, Peru 09-11-2010

When I got to the hostel in Cusco I took a long overdue nap (esp. after Fletch told me the story of how he was violently shaking me on the way to Lima when the drink cart came around and I did not flinch). I was awoken by what I would describe as "The Holy Grail of Lameness". Someone was playing a Kenny G. album that covered Celine Dion songs. Afterwards, I showered and walked around Cusco looking for a meal: especially since the last time I ate one I was in the States. I came across a beautiful church and Fletch suggested that we go inside. When we walked in we stumbled upon a wedding! I desperately wanted to take a picture but my manners managed to get the best of me. The highlight of the evening was eating guinea pig. Yup, those little animals that you can find in your local American pet store. Grant it, I will probably never do it again, but as the saying goes, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

Side Note: My thoughts today were with all the friends and families that lost loved ones this day nine years ago. It is eerily quiet being in another country and knowing that my homeland is mourning one of the most devastating attacks in our short history. God Bless.
